Powell's City of Books on Burnside is a Portland treasure. Plan to spend hours if not half a day.

But nothing compares to being immersed in the three floors of books, books, books. The store has over an acre and a half of retail floor space. I continually get lost in the stacks.
Today, one of my purchases was the novel by Matthew Quick, "Silver Linings Playbook." The movie was so good I want to read the book that inspired it.

I loved visiting Powell's and spent part of my day today supporting our local Truckee bookstore. Bought The Paris Wife.

ReplyDeleteAh, one of my absolute favorite places on the planet! I enjoy all bookstores, but Powell's, what can I say? I love that they put new and used (many of which are out of print) books right next to each other. I used to pass through Powell's every day, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes for hours.
